imec.AI-labs bridges the linguistic abstraction of LLMs with the physical grounding of world models through heterogeneous agent societies. By using natural language as a universal protocol, agents combine predictive, future-querying reasoning with continuous adaptation.

The core breakthrough is heterogeneity: AI systems, humans, and devices collaborating to anticipate outcomes in non-stationary environments. In the long term, this paves the way for large-scale digital twins of complex socio-technical systems.
